Magic Hour by Kristin Hannah is set in a very small town on the edge of the Olympic National Forest. One day a young girl about 5 years old appears in town with wolf pup, she is wild and terrified, traumatized and speechless.

From there the mystery begins to unfold. The town Police Chief and her sister, a child psychiatrist try to get her to talk and to find her family. What they discover is heartbreaking.

Hannah is a prolific writer and I enjoy most of her books. Although this is not one of my favorites, as I found it predictable at times, the character of Alice, the young girl, will stay with me for a while.
